War correspondent Simon Hunt (Richard Gere) suffered a melt-down while reporting during the war in Bosnia and disappeared from the scene. Now, five years later, network anchorman Franklin Harris (James Brolin) is reporting on the scene and brings Hunt's cameraman Duck (Terrence Howard) with him. Out of the blue, Simon appears with a lead on where the fugitive Serbian war criminal "The Fox" (Ljubomir Kerekes) can be found. Unable to resist the scoop, Duck, Simon, and Benjamin (Jesse Eisenberg) the son of the network vice-president set out in search of "The Fox." As they follow a trail that ends in numerous dead ends, Simon confesses that he does not want to interview "The Fox," he wants to kill him to avenge the death of his pregnant Bosnian girlfriend of the past. Other problems rise to the fore–including interference from a U.N. peacekeeping official (Mark Ivanir)–that result in alerting "The Fox" of their presence. But still, the search continues.

Timothy is being raised by his widowed mother Rachel (Rhona Mitra) and her husband's family (Sarah Carter, Elias Koteas, and Barbara Gordon). Katherine is unaware that the family members are werewolves and that they protect Timothy because the family knows that Timothy holds the power to control the good skinwalkers' destiny. But, those bad skinwalkers know of the prophecy and, having just learned of where Timothy lives, are determined to kill him.
