Prot (Kevin Spacey) is arrested at New York City's Grand Central Station after claiming to be an alien. Powell becomes obsessed with Prot, but time is running out because Prot tells Powell that he must leave Earth in a few days. Now, Powell is determined to get the truth from him–but can he?

His escape is in writing poetry and eventually getting his life together. Inspired by Paul Devlin's "SlamNation," a documentary about poetry slams (competition) filmed earlier the same year.
