This film adaptation of A.S. Byatt's "Morpho Eugenia" involves insect collector William Adamson (Mark Rylance) who marries into an aristocratic family, the Alibasters. Karenin will not grant her a divorce–even when Anna becomes pregnant with Vronsky's child–and depression and suicidal thoughts set in when Anna finds that happiness is elusive.

Now Amled starts planning his revenge–starting with feigning madness.
