  Dr. Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart) is a widower who has written a self-help book but is still having problems dealing with his own pain over the death of his wife three years ago. While teaching a seminar in Seattle, Burke meets and falls in love with Eloise Chandler (Jennifer Aniston) who has sworn off of men and is spending most of her time working in her floral business. Burke and Eloise have not met at the right time for either of them, but Jennifer makes Burke realize that he has not faced up to the loss of his wife–and, maybe in this case, love happens.
