Three Amigos! 1986 PG, 103 min. Genre: Comedy / Adventure / Western
Director: John Landis Cast: Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Patrice Martinez, Alfonso Arau, Tony Plana, Joe Mantegna, Phil Hartman, Jon Lovitz, Philip Gordon, Fred Asparagus, Santos Morales, Tino Insana, Kai Wulff, Norbert Weisser
This film is a parody of "The Magnificent Seven," minus four of the heroes. Three silent-screen cowboys–Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short)–have been fired from the studio when they receive a message from Carmen (Patrice Martinez) begging them to save her Mexican town. They think that Carmen is paying them to perform their singing routine in a show, but she really wants them to rid her town of marauding El Guapo (Alfonso Arau) who is terrorizing her friends and neighbors. They do head south of the border and arrive in Carmen's town and then learn that Carmen has been kidnapped by El Guapo. What do they do? They perform acts of heroism–just like they have done on the screen–and save the town.
