Trouble brews just as the two begin to bond when Carlos' uptight mother (Carmen Maura) bursts onto the scene with intentions of tearing down the ghost town and turning it into a profit-making amusement park.

But now she finds that she is being held captive by the other inhabitants of the building who all know of the money and have agreed to share it among themselves. And the terror begins in this dark comedy/thriller.

It isn't long before Amaro falls in love with 16-year-old Amelia (Ana Claudia Talancon). As if this were not enough, Padre Benito has major drug connections as well as a mistress of his own–Amelia's mother, Sanjuanera (Angelica Aragon).
