Drugs, infidelity, lurid actions, and more were filmed, ending with scenes of Jude making love with Lisa (Lisa Marsh), the wife of Ray (Ray Winstone)–resulting in Ray killing Jude. Really over the top.

The children prove to be difficult, and the housekeeper (Lauren Bacall), who really runs the place, is not pleasant to get along with. It soon becomes evident that the house holds a dark secret. Good performances by Keitel and Bacall.
