After enduring many bad moments in her relationship with Joel (Jim Carrey), Clementine (Kate Winslet) utilizes a technology that erases memories of Joel from her mind. Joel follows suit; however, in the middle of the procedure, Joel changes his mind and tries to resist the technology by hiding a memory of Clementine somewhere in his brain. The film received an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and Kate Winslet was nominated for Best Actress.
