In this direct-to-video sequel, veterinarian John Doolittle's daughter, Maya (Kyla Pratt), has inherited her father's innate ability to talk to the animals. When she gets in trouble, her mother (Kristen Wilson) sends Maya off to Durango, a dude ranch, where she makes new friends and gives the animals a pep talk to encourage them to perform well in an upcoming rodeo, which could provide the needed funds to keep Durango out of bankruptcy.

But David's insecurities take over, and his jealous beliefs that Consuela is cheating on him drive her away–at least for awhile.
