Fresh out of jail, Harry (Michael Madsen) wins money and a car in a poker game. What he doesn't know is that the game was fixed, and the car's trunk contains a body. So it's on the road for our hero in search of other card games. He picks up a hitchhiker, Kit (Patricia Arquette), who is searching for her father's killer. When Harry's "friends" find out that the body in the trunk contains keys to a cash box, they hit the road in pursuit. Meanwhile, Kit's grandmother (Florence Stanley), a crime boss who wants to merge with the gang responsible for Kit's father's death, has her thugs chasing Kit. Boy, don't Harry and Kit have BIG problems?
