Little Buddha 1994 PG, 123 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Bernardo Bertolucci Cast: Keanu Reeves, Chris Isaak, Bridget Fonda, Alex Wiesendanger, Ruocheng Ying, Raju Lai
Remember Hermann Hesse's "Siddhartha" whose young prince goes looking for the meaning of life? Well, this film weaves that story into a modern day tale about a group of Buddhist monks who think that an American youngster (Alex Wiesendanger) is the reincarnation of a lama. This story is based on the life of Gotama Buddha who lived around the fifth century B.C., and whose followers regarded him as close to the realm of a god.
