After ingesting hazardous chemicals, spiders grow to gigantic sizes on Taft's Exotic Spider Farm in Prosperity, Arizona, and go on a feeding frenzy eating all humans in sight. Some of the terrorized townspeople–Chris McCormack (David Arquette), Sheriff Sam Parker (Kari Wuhrer), and her children Mike (Scott Terra) and Ashley (Scarlett Johansson)–join Deputy Pete (Rick Overton) and paranoid radio DJ Harlan (Doug E. Doug) and take refuge in a local mall where they prepare to battle the beasts.
