  Talk-show listener Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) becomes emotionally involved in the plight of recent widower Sam (Tom Hanks) when she hears his story over the radio. Sam's eight-year-old son, Jonah (Ross Malinger), had called the show hoping to find a new mother. Annie is engaged to marry Walter (Bill Pullman), but she believes it is Sam who she wants to marry. She travels to Seattle to meet Sam but then changes her mind. Meanwhile, Jonah has booked a flight to New York to meet Annie. Sam follows his son, and finally meets Annie in the observation area of the Empire State Building where love blooms. A nice, sweet, romantic comedy.
