A series of murders in 1983 had not been solved by Detective Ulisse (Max von Sydow). Now, 17 years later, the killing starts again, and it appears to be the same person, a dwarf, who is responsible. Ulisse comes out of retirement to hunt down the killer. Dario Argento deviates somewhat from his bloody horror flicks for this one, though there is still some blood to deal with. He even got a name star–Max von Sydow– to play the lead.
