| | an underrated classic | gene43 04/25/2007 | | I first saw HELEN OF TROY as a 13 year old and was enthralled. After viewing it recently on DVD I find it has lost none of it's magical powers. It was the only 'ancient spectacle' of the '50s that possesed not only spectacle and charm but also a highly romantisized atmosphere of this ancient world. And without Max Steiners PERFECT score, this couldn't have been achieved. |

And in a statue-like coffin called "The Virgin of Nuremberg," she finds a recently dead, bloody woman. Thus begins a series of murders that she believes are the responsibility of Max or the scarred caretaker, Erich (Christopher Lee). Pure Gothic horror. Dubbed in English.

Good acting saves this very long version of the Bible story about God venting his wrath on the sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Sunday Lovers 1980 R, 127 min. Genre: Comedy
Director: Various Directors Cast: Roger Moore, Lino Ventura, Ugo Tognazzi, Gene Wilder, Lynn Redgrave, Kathleen Quinlan, Priscilla Barnes, Denholm Elliott, Rossana Podesta, Robert Webber
Four short stories set in four separate countries relate the sexual exploits of four middle-aged men in this tasteless film, which is made worse by poor acting. Directors: Bryan Forbes, Edouard Molinaro, Dino Risi, and Gene Wilder. Wilder's story is probably the worst one.
