  Sandra Marshall (Barbara Stanwyck) returns to her late husband James' family mansion for his funeral and announces to James' research scientist uncle, Mark (Errol Flynn), the news of her secret marriage to James. Mark distrusts Sandra but allows her to stay at the mansion where she makes friends with James' sister Julie (Geraldine Brooks) who then dies under mysterious circumstances. Sandra believes that Mark has committed the murder of Julie, but are her suspicions correct?
