This film is a satire on middle-class values in America. When television cameraman Harry Hinkle (Jack Lemmon) is injured during his filming of a Cleveland Browns football game, his brother-in-law "Whiplash Willy" (Walter Matthau) becomes his lawyer as they go to court to collect for injuries. Matthau won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
