Meanwhile, the innocent boy, Huck (Elijah Wood), has escaped from his brutal father, Pap (Ron Perlman), and has joined escaped slave Jim (Courtney B. Vance) on a rafting trip down the Mississippi River. Huck and Jim develop an understanding of each other and then run into "the King" and "the Duke" along the way. It doesn't take long for Huck and Jim to be drawn reluctantly into the schemes of "the King" and "the Duke."
