| | One of the funniest movies of the 70's | Tianello 08/12/2010 | | I have been trying to find this movie for almost 40 years. My husband and I saw it in 1971 and thought it was hysterically funny. Bologna and Taylor, who are married in real life, play an Italian and a Jew, and there's a scene when he brings her home to meet his mother that is priceless. For some reason, it is not available on DVD or video, to my knowledge. I once caught the tail end of it on AMC. Haven't seen it since. |

Heading for a job interview in N.Y.C., a couple, George and Gwen Kellerman (Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis), leave their quiet neighborhood in Ohio and meet with disasters. Dennis' oft-heard description of each and every new misfortune that they encounter is "Oh, My God!" This is a very funny film. 1 User Review

| | bamabelle 02/10/2010 | | This is the funniest film I have ever seen. The story line is outrageously so connective, it could just as well have been a non-fiction. Keep the tissues handy, OH NO, not a tear jerking film, but you will laugh so hard you will need the tissues for tears falling from laughing so darn hard |

Silent Movie 1976 PG, 86 min. Genre: Comedy
Director: Mel Brooks Cast: Mel Brooks, Marty Feldman, Dom DeLuise, Bernadette Peters, Sid Caesar, Paul Newman, Liza Minnelli, Anne Bancroft, Marcel Marceau, Harold Gould, Ron Carey, Carol Arthur, Liam Dunn, Fritz Feld, Chuck McCann
Mel Brooks portrays movie director Mel Funn who cons a studio executive (Sid Caesar) into letting him and his assistants Dom Bell and Marty Eggs (Dom DeLouise and Marty Feldman) make a silent film to save the studio from a takeover. The deal is made IF Brooks can provide top stars for the production. The stars include Paul Newman, Liza Minnelli, Marcel Marceau, and Anne Bancroft who play themselves. The film is a series of hilarious sight gags; only one word is spoken during the entire film–by Marcel Marceau!
