Sam and Johnny vie for Meg's affection, and the rivalry comes to a climax during a car chase that ends at a train crossing.

But he must keep moving on. However, on the eve of his leaving, Carrie is murdered and Bix is the prime suspect. Not to worry; Danny saves the day as he uncovers the creepy Jesse (Jack Elam) as the killer. Jack Elam makes this at least somewhat watchable.

  As Roy and Gilbert (Edmond O'Brien and Frank Lovejoy) head off on a fishing trip, they make a big mistake: they pick up a hitchhiker, Emmett (William Talman), a sadistic, psychotic killer. Emmett takes the pair hostage and forces them to cross the desert and enter Mexico, playing a cat and mouse game with them on the way. A good film noir directed by the 1930s and 1940s star, Ida Lupino.
