But he must keep moving on. However, on the eve of his leaving, Carrie is murdered and Bix is the prime suspect. Not to worry; Danny saves the day as he uncovers the creepy Jesse (Jack Elam) as the killer. Jack Elam makes this at least somewhat watchable.

Emmett takes the pair hostage and forces them to cross the desert and enter Mexico, playing a cat and mouse game with them on the way. A good film noir directed by the 1930s and 1940s star, Ida Lupino.
