Their trip of leisure changes after Rae and John rescue Hughie Warriner (Billy Zane) from his sinking schooner. He tells Rae and John that the other passengers died of food poisoning. John doesn't believe Hughie and boards the schooner to investigate–and the nightmare begins.

Likewise, those who would try to shorten his life end up dead. When Patrick knows that his death is imminent, he tries to get Kathy to commit suicide so that she can join him.

Kate is believed to be a descendent of the cult's founder, and it is hoped that she will become one of the group. A different kind of vampire film.
