The Tumians are aliens from Klatu Nebula who have patterned their lifestyle after the characters on the now-defunct TV show, "Galaxy Quest." When enemy aliens attack the Tumians, they recruit the cast of "Galaxy Quest" to command and operate a spaceship the aliens have modeled from the ship on the TV show. Tim Allen is excellent in his role as the spaceship Commander Peter Quincy.
