  When orphaned Andi (Emma Roberts) and her brother Bruce (Jake T. Austin) move into the home of their new foster parents (Kevin Dillon and Lisa Kudrow), they must give up their dog, Friday. They know that they cannot live without Friday and place Friday in an abandoned hotel that they turn into a shelter for stray animals. This works for awhile–until their caseworker Bernie (Don Cheadle) finds another home for Andi and Bruce. Their trespassing is discovered, and the dogs are impounded. But even this does not stop Andi and Bruce, and they find a way to rescue their beloved animals.
