Cobb 1994 R, 120 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Ron Shelton Cast: Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Wuhl, Lolita Davidovich, Lou Myers, Ned Bellamy, Scott Burkholder, Allan Malamud, Stacy Keach Sr., Bill Caplan, Jeff Fellenzer, Doug Krikorian, Gavin Smith, Lou Myers, Rhoda Griffis, J. Kenneth Campbell
This biography of one of baseball's greatest players uses his dark side as its focus. Tyrus Raymond Cobb (Tommy Lee Jones), the Georgia Peach, played baseball like few other players; he also lived life like few others. Bigoted psychopath is an apt description of this film that shows, through flashbacks, Cobb as he relates stories of his life to sportswriter Al Stump (Robert Wuhl). This is not a pretty story. Instead it shows how unbridled energy defined Cobb.
