Ty Hacket (Columbus Short) is struggling to get his kid brother Jimmy (Andre Kinney) out of foster care when his friend, Mike Cochrone (Matt Dillon), finds a job for Ty working as an armored car guard with Mike and his crew–Baines (Laurence Fishburne), Quinn (Jean Reno), Palmer (Amaury Nolasco), and Dobbs (Skeet Ulrich). Mike hatches a plot in which the crew will steal $42 million, hide it, and then report that it was stolen in a robbery. The plans appears to work until an unexpected witness interferes, and the simple plan becomes very complicated.

When she refuses to reveal her source, U.S. District Court Judge Hall (Floyd Abrams) throws Rachel into jail for contempt of court, and her legal struggles begin as U.S. attorney Patton Dubois (Matt Dillon) pressures her to reveal her source. Rachel's attorney, Albert Burnside (Alan Alda), cites her First Amendment rights as he pleads her case. Meanwhile, Rachel spends one year in jail where she is beaten up by the inmates and is alienated from her husband Ray (David Schwimmer) but, through it all, maintains her integrity.

Lots of violence; no real story.

First, her new lover, Sam (Billy Zane), hires two thugs (Michael Biehn and Rob Schneider), but they fail to kill Paul. Next a biker, Bob (Dan Akyroyd), is paid to finish the job. The problem is that as more people become involved, more want in on the money, and complications ensue.
