This film does a good, though biased, job of relating people's emotions over the Vietnam War. It tells the story of U.S. Marine Corps Captain Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern) and his wife Sally's (Jane Fonda) affair with paraplegic war veteran Luke Martin (John Voight). Jane Fonda and Jon Voight won Academy Awards for Best Actress and Actor. An Oscar was also awarded for Best Screenplay, and five nominations were received, including Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor (Dern) and Actress (Penelope Milford as Sally's troubled friend Vi). 1 User Review

| | K.C. 07/17/2010 | | After seeing this movie, it does bring back so many memories of the 60's & what our military had to go through when they came back from Viet Nam. It was a hellish war. I enjoyed this movie, especially Jon Voight. |
