Censored prior to U.S. release, this is the third film of a series that formerly had Caroline as the heroine, but now her son (Juan) carries on the adventures.

Maurice even goes to the man's estate with a gun, finds the man already killed, and also finds that Jenny had smashed a bottle of champagne over the man's head when he had made a sexual advance. Thus, this excellent Hitchcock-like mystery begins with Maurice being the prime suspect.

  This French-Italian production was filmed mostly in Genoa during rebuilding after World War II and tells the story of Pierre (Jean Gabin), a murderer on the lam. He stows away on a ship and gets off at Genoa in search of a dentist to take care of his toothache. There he meets a waitress, Marta (Isa Miranda), and romance blossoms. But, authorities are still on his trail. The film won an Honorary Oscar for Outstanding Foreign Film.
