Set during the 1960s, this story relates actions of students at Miss Godard's School for Girls when plans for a merger with a neighboring New England boys' school are implemented. Odette (Gaby Hoffman) and her roommates Verena (Kirsten Dunst) and Tinka (Monica Keena) are at odds because Verena and Tinka resent headmistress Miss Hoddard's (Lynn Redgrave) decision to merge with the boy's school. But, Odette gives in, they set out with their friends to discredit the boys, and the battle of the sexes ensues.
