  This war film stars Gregory Peck as General Frank Savage who takes over Major Harvey Stovall's (Dean Jagger) World War II bomber squadron in England. Eventually, Savage cares for his men above all else, and the story concerns the stresses of command as the leader becomes too close to his men. Dean Jagger won an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor and nominations were received for Best Picture and Actor (Gregory Peck).
