This film points out the fraudulence of Buffalo Bill's accounts. However, the film is interesting as it shows how egotistic personalities write their own versions of history.

  Based on Herman Wouk's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, this is a very well-produced, made-for-TV film about the compulsive Captain Queeg (Brad Davis) whose crew mutinies and takes over their minesweeper. Lt. Steve Maryk (Jeff Daniels) led the mutiny because a deadly storm was brewing, and Maryk felt that Capt. Queeg was losing his sanity. The act leads to a court martial. Defense attorney Lt. Barney Greenwald (Eric Bogosian) calls Queeg to testify for the defense–knowing that the only way to win the case is to prove that Capt. Queeg really was incompetent. A compelling story.

They spend the night at Charlie's house with Charlie's roommates, prostitutes Barbara (Ann Prentiss) and Susan (Gwen Welles). The next day, they sink into their worlds of booze, gambling, and sex, and, once again, their money is stolen. Bill sells his possessions to gamble on a big game in Reno. He wins but then leaves the casino and heads home after realizing that gambling may not be the way he wants to live his life, while Charlie remains behind believing that gambling IS his life.

Magruder takes on her case, and very soon finds himself in a situation way over his head.

Popeye and Olive Oyl get together, and Popeye adopts Swee'pea (Wesley Ivan Hurt), but problems lie ahead with Bluto (Paul L. Smith).

  The week-long unveiling of Paris designs is an "event" captured by this film. If you like fashion excess and shallow (but good-looking) people hopping into bed, this is the film for you. Actually, when subplots are deleted, this film is, in itself, one big satire on the fashion industry.

  The world is in the midst of another Ice Age when seal hunter Essex (Paul Newman) and his pregnant wife, Vivia (Brigitte Fossey), search for Essex's brother Francha (Thomas Hill). They find Francha in a remote city where survivors are playing the game, "Quintet," in which losing players are murdered. They join in the game, and, after Francha and Vivia are killed, Essex tries to stay alive but becomes obsessed with the game.

  This is another Robert Altman film, presented in true Altman style, with many story lines played by almost as many stars. The characters are dysfunctional couples who arrive at crisis points in their lives and do not seem capable of making the right decisions. Altman was nominated for an Oscar for Best Director.
