  A U.S. Army satellite carrying a virus from outer space has crashed on Earth. It has landed in a remote village in the Southwest and has killed everyone, except a crying baby and a wino. Top scientists gather at the site to figure out what is happening. After intense examinations, they isolate the organism–Andromeda Strain–that has caused the deaths. Now the race against time begins as the scientists attempt to find a cure before more people die.

Savina, in turn, must find the red scepter that controls the Red Dragons, which is even more powerful than the Gold Dragons.

The only possession of the dead man is a box, which contains a valuable treasure. Greed steps in as each tries to out-deceive the other two and claim the entire loot. But there is more to the box that meets the eye.

The show's sponsor (also played by De Young) imprisons Brad on another program, "Denton," which is a mental hospital and makes Janet a star in an attempt to get Janet for himself.
