  Three friends (Robert De Niro, John Savage, and Christopher Walken) from a small Pennsylvania town go to Vietnam where they are reunited as POWs. While POWs, they are forced to play a game of Russian Roulette. This film often leaves much for the viewer to figure out and is powerful in its impact and insights. Academy Awards were presented for Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor (Walken), Film Editing, and Sound. Nominations were received for Best Actor (De Niro), Supporting Actress (Meryl Streep), Writing, and Cinematography.
