  In this mockumentary, the Grand Championship of Poker is being held in Las Vegas. His task is not easy as he joins five other eccentric characters–siblings Lainie and Larry Shwartzman (Cheryl Hines and David Cross), autistic Harold Melvin (Chris Parnell), internet poker player Andy Andrews (Richard Kind), and Las Vegas regular "Deuce" Fairbanks (Dennis Farina)–duking it out at the table while other players and relatives provide amusing moments.

Meanwhile, Larry's unemployed brother Arthur (Richard Kind) follows Larry to share the motel room where Larry ends up after Judith tells him the marriage is over. Larry's pot-smoking son Danny (Aaron Wolff) and daughter Sarah's taking money from Larry's wallet do not help either. Adding to Larry's problems is the fact that his job appears to be in jeopardy. Finally, Larry seeks advice from three rabbis. But, will they really give Larry the advice that he needs to cope with his problems?

They had rented the apartment from a con man who knew that Walter was not living there. Walter allows them to stay, and that decision opens up a new world for him. Tarek teaches Walter how to play the African drum, and Walter is delighted to discover the world of jazz. When Tarek is arrested as an illegal immigrant, Walter comes to his aid. Tarek's mother Mouna (Hiam Abbass) arrives in the city looking for her son, and romance also enters Walter's world. Cultural differences have fallen by the wayside. Jenkins received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
