She leaves the Smith family and goes to work for another family. Dressler was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.

While concentrating on parachute practice, they still make use of their free time, and Donald and Bill find themselves competing for the affections of beautiful Kit Richards (Nancy Kelly) whose father just happens to be tough MSgt. Bill "Thunderhead" Richards (Harry Carey).

Meanwhile, McGargle is wooing "Countess" Maggie Tubbs De Puizzi (Catharine Doucet) who is a phony claimant to the valuable Putnam estate. McGargle plots with Attorney E.G. Whiffen (Lynne Overman) to pass Poppy off as the real heir. By story's end, it is learned that Poppy was adopted by McGargle and, in fact, really is the heir to the Putnam estate. Now, Poppy plans to marry Billy and live happily ever after.

Gribb's goal is to win the affections of Edward's long-suffering wife, Mary (Anita Louise), but along comes the real hero, Frederick (Hugh Herbert), who foils Cribbs' plan. Despite the presence of Buster Keaton (who has some good lines), the joke is on the audience.
