  Paul and Jane Webster (Richard Crane and Beverly Garland) are newlyweds riding on a train when Paul receives a telegram. He gets off at a station, and the train leaves before he re-boards. Jane spends years searching for Paul. She finally finds him in the Louisiana bayou country and discovers that Paul has been given reptile genes as the means to bring him back to health, and he is now transformed into an alligator mutant.
