This is Peter Sellers' last film as the bungling Inspector Clouseau. This time around, Clouseau is on the heels of an international drug trafficking ring led by drug lord Douvier (Robert Webber) who gives orders to kill Clouseau. When Clouseau's car crashes, Douvier believes that Clouseau, not an escaping criminal, was killed. Clouseau fakes his own death, and Douvier, believing he is dead, is not on the lookout for him. Now, Clouseau goes incognito to Hong Kong, and Douvier's ex-girlfriend Simone Legree (Dyan Cannon), who seeks revenge against Douvier, helps Clouseau solve the case.
