It seems like a good idea, but it goes nowhere.

A cat-and-mouse game ensues. Malkovich received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Good plan–until the new team members actually work together and prove that they will end up far from last place as Phelps has planned.

Despondent, he goes into a bar and tells his problems to the bartender (Michael Caine), who mixes a potion, and Larry walks out into the world that he would have experienced had he made that hit. He finds that all is not perfect in that world, either.
