Nate Williamson (Michael O'Keefe) and Sophie (Jenny Seagrove) are preparing to settle down and do missionary work on a South Pacific island when bounty hunter Ben Pease (Max Phipps) and his shipmates kill all of Nate's and Sophie's family and kidnap Sophie during her wedding ceremony. Pirate captain Bully Hayes (Tommy Lee Jones), who has his own romantic interest in Sophie, rescues Nate (Michael O'Keefe), and, together, they sail the seas searching for Sophie with the plan of securing her safe release from the captors.
