Vietnam veteran Oliver Stone shows the horrors of war in the jungles of Vietnam as seen through the eyes of young recruit Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen) and his platoon. While Chris watches the conflicts between the two sergeants and other members of his platoon, he must decide where his own values lie. David Reardon's (Ron Leibman) wife is robbed, and left for dead on the street. Judge John Eden (Beau Bridges) is assigned to the hearing of a street gang that is accused of the crime and rejects a plea from David for a delay. Finding a lack of evidence, the judge sets the gang members free. When David's wife later dies, he kidnaps the judge's wife, rigs a warehouse with booby traps and surveillance cameras to watch her, and tells the judge that he has seven hours to find the evidence to convict the gang members. Thus, the judge must hit the dangerous streets to obtain the evidence. Good grief!
