Although Rebecca Winstead's Aunt Miranda Wilkins (Helen Westley) forbids her to associate with the show business world, neighbor talent scout Tony Kent (Randolph Scott) sets up the talented Rebecca (Shirley Temple) for a radio broadcast. She wins the radio talent contest and becomes the darling of the airwaves. Along the way, she dances with Aloysius (Bill Robinson).
