  The title song is a big highlight of this film about chorus girl Dynamite Jackson (Doris Day) who finds romance with businessman S. Winthrop Putnam (Ray Bolger) while sailing to Europe to attend a Parisian Arts Festival. It turns out that Winthrop is already married to Marcia (Eve Miller), but when it is discovered that the marriage is illegal, the path is cleared for Winthrop and Dynamite to live happily ever after.

Danny and Jamie decide to compose music together and help with a fundraiser for Nick's granddaughter Rae (Marcy McGuire) who wants to be a pianist. Soon both men are romantically attracted to Rae's music teacher Anne Fielding (Kathryn Grayson). Jamie ends up with Anne, but all is not lost when Danny falls for an Army nurse (Gloria Grahame) who he had met in the service.

  When the heat is on, Dane (Wayne Morris) tells the D.A. that his former crime partner, Martin (Pat O'Brien), is responsible for an unsolved murder. Martin hides in an abandoned house with 14-year-old Elsie (Gayle Reed) and her dog. Wouldn't you know it, Elsie is the D.A.'s daughter. Dane and Martin finally meet for the showdown. Based on a Damon Runyon story. By the way, "Johnny One-Eye" is the dog's name in this story that's a little slow.
