  Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland team up again for a lively musical. This time, Rooney plays Tommy Williams who produces a charity show as the means of taking orphans on a country trip. With help from his friend Penny (Garland) and their young friends, the show does go on–but not without problems. Songs include "How About You?" and "Hoe Down." This film marks the debut of Margaret O'Brien.

  Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney) has graduated from high school and convinces his father, Judge Hardy (Lewis Stone), that he may go to New York City to spend the summer and learn more about the world. Andy's pal, Betsy Booth (Judy Garland), keeps an eye on things and even reports back to Judge Hardy on Andy's activities. It turns out that Andy is NOT ready for life in the big city, and Judge Hardy and Betsy convince him to return home.
