The evil Cruella de Vil (voice of Betty Lou Gerson) wants to buy Dalmatian puppies to provide fur coats for profit. When Roger refuses to sell them to her, she arranges to steal them. The police cannot find the puppies, but Pongo and Perdita use a system of dog signals to locate them, and–with help from dogs, geese, horses, and cows–the puppies are rescued.

She confesses to her parents, Roger and Leah (Lloyd Nolan and Dorothy McGuire) that she is pregnant, and they take her to Guatemala to have the baby. She has the baby, and then Roger dies of a heart attack. Susan and Leah return home to California, and Leah pretends that she is the baby's mother. Now, Hoyt and aspiring author Wells Corbett (Bert Convy) propose to Susan, but she refuses both of their offers. After her baby is badly burned in an accident, Susan confesses that she is the mother. Wells loses interest in Susan, but Hoyt is still smitten. Will Susan marry Hoyt and live happily ever after?
