Frank steps in, but problems arise between Terry and Frank because they both are falling for Jane. When the carburetor is tested, it turns out to be a disaster, and the car crashes nearly killing the driver, Gadget (Ted Healy) and Terry. Frank saves them, and, together, they work to perfect the carburetor. They succeed and enter the car in the big race where the new carburetor earns the respect of all, and Terry ends up with Jane.
