  Gentle Dr. Kessler (Bela Lugosi) lives with his adult daughter Virginia (Polly Ann Young) and household staff in his large mansion. He grieves the loss of his wife (Betty Compson) who was believed killed in an auto accident. But she did not die, and the butler (Clarence Muse) has kept her locked away until she recovers from her amnesia that resulted from the accident. She routinely gets out, and when she looks in the doctor's window, he is put in a trance and kills people he runs across. Cheap, but the good direction helps keep an eerie atmosphere.

John deposits his winnings in the local bank, and Barton plans a bank robbery. But, John works on a tip, comes to the rescue, and foils Barton's plot.

  This film made Valentino a household word, though the film itself is not all that good. By today's standards, race and gender issues would stand out in the manner they are portrayed. But, it is still a fun film to watch. Sheik Ahmed (Rudolph Valentino) falls for a British socialite (Agnes Ayres), abducts her, and takes her to his desert tent. There he teaches her subservience. While trying to escape, she is captured by a foe of the Sheik. When Ahmed saves her, she realizes her love for him.

  This classic film tells the story of Alexander Graham Bell's (Don Ameche) struggles to invent the telephone. Bell falls in love with a deaf girl, Mabel Hubbard (Loretta Young), who he is teaching. Mabel encourages Bell to work on his invention, and her wealthy father Gardner Hubbard (Charles Coburn) backs Bell's invention. Thomas Watson (Henry Fonda) is Bell's assistant, and they succeed in inventing the telephone but then must fight Western Union for the patent rights.
