She dreams of working for the elite fashion magazine, "Alette," but lands a job as an advice columnist for a finance company. Rebecca keeps her own financial problems a secret while her column becomes a great success. As her career soars, Rebecca finds it more and more difficult to hide her money troubles from her readers–and even more so from her boss Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) when romance blooms between them.

There she meets the star's secret lover, Dirk (Rupert Everett), who, also of course, is grief-stricken. The two team up to find the killer, with the trail leading to Chicago. Good cast, weak comedy/mystery.
