Thirty-something student living with his mother (Olympia Dukakis), Flynn (Noah Wyle) is forced out of school and takes a job at a library where Judson (Bob Newhart) and Charlene (Jane Curtin) give him the job of overseeing the library's mythical artifacts. When one of the artifacts is stolen, Flynn, with reluctant help from martial-arts-skilled Nicole (Sonya Walger), searches for the artifact to retrieve it from the villains.
