  After music professor John Russell (George C. Scott) moves into a mansion in Seattle, he realizes that his new home is haunted. Working with Claire Norman (Trish Van Devere), John figures out that the haunting comes from the ghost of a murdered boy whose father wanted to collect on his life insurance policy. When the father realized that he could not collect on the boy's insurance, the father substituted another boy for his son, and now the "changeling"–wealthy Joseph Carmichael–believes that John is finding information about his past and could blackmail him.

  In this made-for-TV, two-part Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation, Max Dolbey takes on the role of young David Copperfield while Hugh Dancy plays the adult David as Charles Dickens' semi-autobiographical novel is once again presented on film. The setting, filmed in Ireland, gives the look and feel of Copperfield's 19th-century England in which he grew up under the thumb of his cruel stepfather Murdstone (Anthony Andrews) but with support from others such as Aunt Betsy (Sally Field).

  The Carlo Collodi story comes to the screen again via TV as part of "Faerie Tale Theater" series. Carl Reiner takes the role of woodcarver Geppetto who dreams of having a son when he creates a wooden puppet, Pinocchio (Paul Reubens). The Blue Fairy (Lainie Kazan) appears on the scene and grants Geppetto's wish by turning Pinocchio into a living marionette. But, Pinocchio must prove himself to be a good boy and must never lie or his nose will grow. Problems lie ahead, but, by story's end, Pinocchio proves that he has a good soul.
