Christine (Jill Schoelen) auditions for a Broadway show and discovers a piece of music written by obscure composer Erik (Robert Englund). When Christine sings Erik's song, she is taken back to 1881 in London. Many years before, Erik had made a pact with the devil in exchange for writing popular songs. The devil horribly scarred Erik's face forever, but Erik lives beneath the London Opera House where he writes his music. When Erik meets Christine, he falls in love with her, coaches her, and she becomes an opera star. Christine enjoys her success and her romance with Erik–until she realizes that Erik is committing grisly murders in his attempt to assure Christine success in the musical world.
