| | One of the funniest movies of the 70's | Tianello 08/12/2010 | | I have been trying to find this movie for almost 40 years. My husband and I saw it in 1971 and thought it was hysterically funny. Bologna and Taylor, who are married in real life, play an Italian and a Jew, and there's a scene when he brings her home to meet his mother that is priceless. For some reason, it is not available on DVD or video, to my knowledge. I once caught the tail end of it on AMC. Haven't seen it since. |

The popular title song is not the only good thing about this movie. Comedy reigns in this story about the lack of fairness in the workplace when secretaries–Judy Bernly (Jane Fonda), Violet Newstead (Lily Tomlin), and Doralee Rhodes (Dolly Parton)–kidnap their lecherous boss Franklin Hart, Jr. (Dabney Coleman). They keep Franklin prisoner in his own home, run the department without him, and make changes that lead to greater production. But, how long can they keep Hart captive? 1 User Review
